RYSE, Autograph Collection – By Creatives. For Creatives.

4 years ago, Marc & Chantal was commissioned by Aju Hotels & Resorts to create a global brand under Marriott's Autograph Collection that would build a community of creators, travellers and fans. Being involved in the project since its inception, we developed the hotel’s concept, visual identity and shaped the holistic guest experience.

On May 24th 2018, RYSE hotel opened with a red-hot launch party attended by the leaders of Seoul’s creative community.

Located at the heart of the Hongdae district in Seoul, South Korea, it was indeed impossible for us to ignore the creative energy and activity that surrounded the hotel. Home to the indie music scene, wild nightlife and prestigious Hongik University, the life of the neighborhood strongly inspired our concept for RYSE. This is embedded into every corner of the hotel – from the bold, open lower levels to the intriguing artist suites and sophisticated rooftop lounge.

Fuelled by years of creativity and collaboration, RYSE features the work of visionaries from around the globe: architecture by global design innovation firm SCAAA, a sleek interior by London design studio Michaelis Boyd and Korean design consultancy Integration, as well as custom furnishing by Transit Studio.

Within the hotel space, guests can experience the remarkable Tartine Bakery from San Francisco, Thai eatery Long Chim by chef Davis Thomson, Side Note Club by Seoul’s hottest mixologists, a three-storey flagship of the popular Korean streetwear store Worksout, and Arario Gallery’s second branch in Seoul.
